‘Ramayan’ TV serial to be back on Doordarshan, netizens go gaga over return of epic saga

New Delhi: Days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the majestic temple of Lord Rama in his hometown Ayodhya, the makers of DD National have announced their decision to bring back Ramanand Sagar’s timeless show Ramayan on their TV channel once again.

Taking to their official Twitter (Now X) handle, DD shared the cheerful news of the iconic show’s return to their channel by dropping an intriguing clip from the show with a caption that read, Lord Shri Ram has arrived! Once again, the most popular show in all of India, ‘Ramayan,’ has made a comeback. Watch Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayan once again on #DDNational soon! (sic).”

Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayana arrived on Television back in 1987 with its first episode being televised on DD National on 25 January. Within no time, the epic television series gained massive popularity amongst the masses who made it a blockbuster affair by tuning in to watch its episodes every Sunday. Besides the show, its lead characters including Arun Grover, Dipika Chikhlia, and Suniel Lahri also earned a special place in the hearts of fans by captivating them with their exceptional acting & dialogue delivery.

Notably, this is not the first time when Ramanand Sagar’s super hit series has been brought back on National Television. Back in 2020 as well, during the gloomy days of the COVID-19 lockdown, the show was televised on Doordarshan TV Network in a bid to keep the countrymen engaged by providing them with free entertainment in the comfort of their homes.

Once again, the timeless classic emerged as a huge success in terms of TRP and was greeted with massive love & appreciation from the home-bound audience of the newer generation.
