The Uttar Pradesh which once was considered a ‘hindrance’ to the country’s economy, today, has become the growth engine of India. The Defence Corridor in UP is a big move towards making the country completely self-reliant in the defence sector, said Rajnath Singh on Friday.
Addressing a sectoral session on ‘Advantage Uttar Pradesh: Defence Corridor’ during the Global Investors Summit, Union Defence Minister said that Complete ‘Indianisation’ of our defence system will be possible only when we use indigenous technology and materials in equipment, parts and manufacturing as well.
Furthermore, Singh said that UP has full capability to reach any height. “I am well aware of the capabilities of this state. In the coming times, the defence corridor of UP will prove to be the backbone of the country’s strategic power. Today, there has been a special and remarkable achievement on law and order in UP. Work on infrastructure and connectivity has been done at a very fast pace. We all know how the system was here earlier. The Yogi government has made UP completely investment friendly,” he said.
Staring that UP will work to implement the vision of the Government of India in the field of defence, Rajnath said that the defence corridor will prove to be a runway to make India’s defence sector self-reliant.
The Defence Minister said that security is the most important thing for the progress of any society and nation. In the matter of art, culture, knowledge only those societies are ahead which are safe.
