Extending support to the suspended BJP member, Dutch MP Geert Wilders said that India need not be initimidated by the Islamic countries as appeasement never works.

New Delhi: While the hoopla continues to grip the Arabic nations over controversial remarks by Nupur Sharma in a televised debate, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson has found support from a Dutch lawmkaer Geert Wilders.

Extending support to the suspended BJP member, he said that India need not be initimidated by the Islamic countries as appeasement never works.

Geert Wilders is the leader of the Party for Freedom and member of House of Representatives in Netherlands.

“It is ridiculous that Arab and Islamic countries are angered by Indian politician Nupur Sharma for speaking the truth about Prophet Muhammad” he wrote on Twitter.

Wilders also called out the Arabic nations for its own record of tyranny & oppression against minorities residing in those countries.

In his subsequent tweets, the Dutch lawmaker hit out at Arab countries for condemning Indian govt over a televised debate and said that she only spoke the truth about Prohphet Muhammad.

In a tacit advice to the Indian govt, he said that appeasement never works and makes matter only worse. He also suggested that the country should defend Nupur Sharma.

As the controversy escalated, the Centre dissociated itself from Nupur’s remarks on Prophet and said that it was the voice of ‘fringe element’. Going a step further, the party suspended Sharma & expelled Delhi BJP unit media head Naveen Jindal for their controversial statement on Prophet Muhammad. The decision was welcomed by international communities.

After Nupur’s remark spread, slew of Islamic countries ganged up against India and denounced the government for allowing ‘hate comments’ against the most revered figure of Islam. Qatar was the first to summon Indian envoy while other Gulf nations including UAE, Bahrain, Bahrain, Oman & others also joined in.
