Rotary Club of Delhi Ananta opens Charitable eye care centre for cataract, glucoma treatment at nominal cost

With the latest addition of this eye care centre, the Rotary Ananta Welfare Trust seeks to carry forward its mission, ‘Giving light to those who need sight’.

New Delhi: Setting a new benchmark in providing healthcare services, the Rotary Club of Delhi Ananta on Monday inaugurated a state-of-the art eye centre for providing treatment to patients at very nominal costs. With active contribution from the members through the Rotary Ananta Charitable Trust, the Eye Care Centre will provide host of services including cataract surgery, squint and glaucoma treatment.

With the latest addition of this eye care centre, the Rotary Ananta Welfare Trust seeks to carry forward its mission, ‘Giving light to those who need sight’.

The hospital has a full-time medicine doctor now.

Under the supervision of Trust Chairman Rtn Manoj Agarwal and Club President Rtn Vikas Goyal, the event was virtually inaugurated by Rotary International President Jennifer E Jones and the Rotary Governor of District 3012 Rtn Dr Lalit Khanna in the presence of district team, dignitaries from the Rotary District including Trust Treasurer Rtn Rakesh Jain and Club secretary Rtn Kapil Jain, PDG Rtn Alok Gupta, other Rotary Clubs and the members of Rotary Club of Delhi Ananta.

Speaking on the occasion, Jennifer E Jones saluted the healthcare professionals for their selfless service and also hoped that thousands of needy people get the required medical assistance without any hassle.

The program started with recital of National Anthem, Lighting of Lamps & Ganesh Vandana, video presentation of Rise of Rotary Club of Delhi Ananta.

In a very short span of 2 ½ years, Rotary Club of Delhi Ananta has scaled great heights and has made a special place in the world of Rotary by serving Humanity. Delhi Ananta is having to its credit to build a four-floor hospital in a span of 1.5 year with donations form the Club members. It is having daily OPD with a fully equipped Path Lab, A sitting gynaecologist, a dental care, X-Ray Machine.

The Eye Centre project was supported by matching Grant from Rotary International. RI President Rtn Jennifer Jones (a member of the Rotary Club of Windsor Roseland, Ontario, Canada) gave her message to the gathering. Her vision for members to imagine the possibilities in the change they can make to transform the world. Her presidential theme Imagine Rotary is so apt for the charitable hospital project.

RI President is an expert storyteller; she inspires hope and promise and motivates people to take action.

Ribbon Cutting and Eye Care centre inauguration was done and Eye Cataract surgery were conducted. Total 254 Patients visited the Free Mega Camp at the hospital that Day. Rotary Blood Donation Bus from Noida blood bank was also present.
