New Delhi: A day after rocket-propelled grenade was fired at Punjab Police intelligence wing headquarters in Mohali, Khalistani terror outfit Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) issued a warning to Himachal Pradesh CM Jairam Thakur, saying that Mohali attack could have been on Shimla Police.

Issuing a video message, the SFJ chief Gurpatwant Singh Pannu said that Himachal Pradesh CM should ‘learn something from Mohali grenade attack’. He didn’t stop here and went on to make more hollow threats. He said ‘Khalistani referndum’ will be held on June 6 and challenged state govt to stop it.

He also claimed responsibility for tying Khalistani flag at the walls & gates of the state Assembly in Dharamsala. The flags & banners were tied on the gates & walls of premises. The Assembly was not in progress as only the Winter session is held here and rest all sessions are conducted at Assembly in Shimla.

Open threat by the banned terror outfit has raised the hackles of people. The pro-Khalistani group was banned by the government in 2019 for anti-India activities.

What happened in Mohali

Last night, a rocket propelled grenade (RPG) was fired at the Intelligence wing HQ of Punjab Police, triggering an explosion breaking windows. No one was wounded in the attack but police & security agencies are not taking it lightly.

The alleged terror attack happened at 7.30 pm and is said to have been carried out by 2 unidentified men who were traveling in a car and came close to the venue during attack.

A rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) is a shoulder-fired, anti-tank weapon system that launches rockets lace with explosive material. Those present at site said that it was a ‘Made in China’ weapon.

Alarmed at the gravity of situation, all intelligence gathering agencies including IB, RAW & BSF have stepped up their operations to get to the root of Mohali attack and locate the real culprits behind.
