Salim Aziz Durani Death: PM Modi condoles his passing away, remembered his key contribution to India’s rise in the world of cricket

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled the death of  Indian cricketer Salim Aziz Durani at the age of 88.

He died in Gujarat’s Jamnagar on Sunday (April 2). He was suffering from illness from a long period of time.

Taking to Twitter PM Modi rememberd Durani as a cricketing legend, an institution in himself. PM Modi remembered former cricketer’s  key contribution to India’s rise in the world of cricket.

He said that he is pained by his demise.

PM also remebered his interactation with him and he said that he was deeply impressed by his multifaceted persona.

Salim Durani Ji had a very old and strong association with Gujarat. He played for Saurashtra and Gujarat for a few years. He also made Gujarat his home. I have had the opportunity to interact with him and was deeply impressed by his multifaceted persona. He will surely be missed.
