SC grants bail to Indrani Mukherjee in Sheena Bora murder case. What was the matter?

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Wednesday granted bail to Indrani Mukherjee in the Sheena Bora murder case after 6.5 years in custody.

The court has also observed that the other accused in the case, Peter Mukherjea is on bail since February 2020.

Sheena Bora murder case: Everything you need to know-

It was in 2015, that Indrani Mukerjea was arrested in connection with the kidnapping and murder of her daughter Sheena Bora. She was however kidnapped in 2012.

Indran’s driver had confessed to having murdered Sheena Bora along with Indrani Mukerjea and Indrani’s second husband Sanjeev Khanna after being arrested.

Who was Sheena Bora?

Sheena Bora who was kidnapped and later killed, was Indrani’s daughter from her first marriage with Siddhartha Das.

However, Indrani had always claimed that Sheena was in the United States.

Sheena Bora was said to be in a relationship with Peter Mukerjea’s son from his earlier marriage Rahul.

It was said that Indrani Mukerjea had introduced Sheena Bora as her sister to both Peter and Rahul.

According to the investigators, Indrani was said to be angry with her daughter Sheena Bora’s relationship with Rahul Mukerjea ( son from an earlier marriage).

Also, Indrani Mukerjea and Peter Mukerjea had a daughter together, her name is Vidhie Mukerjea.

Why was Peter Mukerjea arrested?

Peter Mukerjea, was arrested months after Indrani on charges of helping her.
