Sharad Pawar says “resigning from the post of national president of NCP”

Saharad Pawar resigns as Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief today.

New Delhi: NCP chief Sharad Pawar today announced that he is  resigning from the post of the national president of  Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).

Senior leader said that although he is stepping down from the post of President, but he is not taking retirement from public life.

He said he will continue to attend public meetings, events.

Pawar added that he will be availble to all of them as usual and he will continue to work round the clock to solve people’s probem.

To party workers who were opposing his resgination, Saharad Pawar said, “Let work together, but accept my resignation”.

However, it is not yet clear on who will be the next NCP President.

What Ajit Pawar said:

Following Sharad Pawar’s resignation, NCP leader Ajit Pawar said that the senior leader himself had said about the necessity of change in guard a few days back. Ajit Pwar said his decision is in the light of his age and health also.

Ajit Pawar said that Saharad Pawar won’t take his decision back.

He further said that Pawar Saheb (Sharad Pawar) will always be the head of the NCP family. He said whoever become the chief of NCP will work only under Pawar Saheb’s guidance.

Meanwhile, NCP leaders including Chhagan Bhujbal, Jitendra Awhad and Dilip Walse Patil said that they are not ready to accept his resignation.
