Sharda University kicks up row over ‘anti-Hindu question’ in BA exams

The University in question, put up a question in its BA examination, asking students to draw similarity between Fascism/Nazism and Hindutva ideology.

New Delhi: Amid the polarised discourse of nation over hijab in schools and loudspeakers at religious places, a fresh controversy has erupted over a question paper of Sharda University.

As the question paper screenshot landed on social media, it triggered wave of anger & protest by netizens. Many called out the University for drafting ‘anti-Hindu’ question. As the controversy erupted and clamour began for action, the Sharda University formed a three-member panel to investigative the issue and suspended the faculty who set up the question paper, with immediate effect.

In a statement, the University clarified that it is against every ideology that spoils our national identity and culture.

Meanwhile, BJP leader Vikas Pritam Sinha took exception to the offensive question mark and said that it aimed at demeaning the Hindu religion. He went on to allege that the faculty who prepared this question belonged to other community.
