
New Delhi: Unidentified miscreants on Monday (November 28) night lobbed a petrol bomb at a residence in Bangalipara locality of Mawbah in Shillong.
According to the residents, they said two boys threw the petrol bomb. However, no damage was caused as the petrol bomb hit a tree on the premises.
Following the incident, BJP State president Ernest Mawrie also reached the spot, he also questioned the Home Minister’s silence on these incidents of violence reported in the city.

This comes at a time when the state has seen fresh tension following the death of six people in Mukroh firing incident.
Alok Kumar attacked by mob
Earlier, an Inspector of Customs and Central Excise, Alok Kumar, who was in Shillong for undertaking training in the National Academy of Customs, Indirect Taxes and Narcotics (NACIN), was by a mob at IGP point in the city.
Alok Kumar was admitted to the ICU in Woodland Hospital in critical condition, later he was shifted to Guwahati.
Internet Ban Lifted
After mobile internet was banned by the state government in the seven districts of Meghalaya was lifted on Monday after almost a week. The decision was taken after tension gripped Meghalaya’s capital Shillong after miscreants torched a traffic booth and attacked three police vehicles, including a city bus near the Civil hospital.
The traffic booth was attacked and the bus was set on fire during a candlelight vigil organised by some groups to protest against the Assam-Meghalaya border violence.
