Shiv Sena (Balasaheb) is the name of new party by Eknath Shinde-led rebel camp

Rebel MLA Deepak Kesarkar, speaking to newsmen said that they have named their group after Balasaheb Thackeray and won’t compromise on his ideals & Hindutva-centri politics.

New Delhi: The revolt by a large faction of Shiv Sena MLAs precipitated Maharasthra govt into a crisis and it’s getting more murkier by each day. Upping the ante against Uddhav-led Shiv Sena, the rebels have decided to float a new outfit and have named it – Shiv Sena (Balasaheb).

This comes on back of Shiv Sena’s tough stance against the rebel legislators and any signs of rapproachment looks increasingly unlikely now. The party is now even pressing for disqualification of at least 16 rebel MLAs, camping in Guwahati hotel.

Rebel MLA Deepak Kesarkar, speaking to newsmen said that they have named their group after Balasaheb Thackeray and won’t compromise on his ideals & Hindutva-centri politics.

“Our group will be called Shiv Sena Balasaheb. We will not merge with any party,” rebel MLA Deepak Kesarkar said.

Meanwhile, the national executive meeting of Shiv Sena is currently on in Mumbai where the party is mulling steps to tackle unprecedented crisis. The party has put up a brave face despite 38 MLAs rebelling against it.

Uddhav Thackeray-led party has upped the ante against rebels and has warned them that time was running out and they must return to Mumbai else repercussions may follow. This became evident in the hooliganism by Sena workers as they barged into office of rebel MLA Tanaji Sawant’s office and ransacked the properties. Yesterday, the Shiv Sainiks had tore down hoardings of rebel MLAs Mangesh Kudalkar & Dilip Lande in Mumbai.

Raising the pitch, the Sena rebels have also sought to lay claim over the party as they have the requisite numbers. The rebel camp has written a lette to Speaker Narhari Zirwal saying that Eknath Shinde should be elected the leader in Assembly as he has the numbers on his side. Prior to this, the Speaker had accepted Sena’s proposal to disqualify 16 MLAs who revolted against the party.
