New Delhi: A video clip of a Shiv Sena lawmaker, who became a rebel and joined Eknath Shinde’s camp hours before the Maharashtra assembly floor test earlier, is going increasingly viral on social media.
The video features MLA Santosh Bangar abusing and thrashing a catering service manager over complaints of poor quality mid-day meal being served to labourers.
The incident occurred in Maharashtra’s Hingoli, the constituency that Bangar represents in the state assembly.
In the now-viral video, Banger can be seen questioning and abusing the service manager over the substandard quality of food, and later even slaps him as the conversation escalates.
Bangar claimed that he had received several complaints of unhygienic and low-quality food being served to the labourers in his constituency by a private catering service, and hence he decided to visit the site himself.

On the other hand, the manager told the media that the food in question was being disposed of and did not mean to be served, but Bangar did not give him a chance to explain.
Meanwhile, in the midday meal scheme of the state government, labours registered with the labour department are served with packaged food.
The food services are provided by the private contractors choosen by the department for a particular area. The company prepares the food at its premisis, and later it is packed and being served to the labours.
