New Delhi: In a shocking incident, a 10-year-old boy was swallowed by a crocodile while was taking bath in the Chambal river in in Sheopur of Madhya Pradesh on Monday (July 11.)
Soon after this, the villagers captured the crocodile and pulled it out of the water with the intention to slice open its stomach and retrieve the boy.
The crocodile was trapped with the help of rope, net and sticks.
The villager’s were adamant to kill the crocodile after pulling it out in order to get their child back, with the hope that the boy might be still alive.
Soon after the incident, the Alligator Department officials reached the spot.

According to the police officials, the 10-year boy had probably gone towards the deeper end of the river where, some villagers reported to have seen the boy getting swallowed.
The young boy has been identified as Antar Singh who fell prey to the semi-aquatic creature.
Later, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) teams have also reached the spot and a rescue operation had started to find the young boy as they belive that the alligator would not have swallowed the little one.
The villagers released the crocodile only after being pressurised by the police officials and the alligator department.
