New Delhi: In a shocking incident, a man from Asaam has been arrested by the Delhi Police for offering namaz while standing on the tricolor flag at Delhi airport.
According to reports, the incident is said to have taken place on May 8. The man has been identified as Mohammed Tariq Aziz.
The incident came to notice when a CISF jawan present at the Delhi airport noticed that Mohammad Tariq Aziz was offering Namaz by spreading the national flag on the ground.
Soon after this, Tariq Aziz was detained by the CISF and was later handed over to the Delhi Police.
Only after scanning the CCTV footage and on the basis of the complaint by CISF, Delhi Police had registered an FIR against Mohammad Tariq Aziz under U/S 2 prevention of insult of national honor act 1971.
According to the CCTV footage from the Delhi Airport, it was clearly seen that Mohammad Tariq Aziz was offering Namaz while standing on the floor between the de-boarding gate number 1 and 3.
In the FIR it is said that Mohammad Tariq Aziz had landed at Delhi airport on flight number 6E24 from Dubai on May 7 and was going back to Assam on May 8.
