New Delhi: It is downright unimaginable to think of a life without water. Despite being aware of the importance of water and the need for its conservation, we often forget to leave the taps open or sometimes don’t consider the wastage while using tons of it to wash our vehicles and more.
Considering the challenges of climate change and the need of the hour to conserve water, ‘World Water Day’ is observed every year across the world to spread awareness amongst all to save water and avoid its wastage. But the water shortage around the world is becoming worse with time.
Even in the present time, women have to risk their lives while trekking for miles on foot in order to quench the basic need of water for their families.
A video in this pretext has surfaced online, that obliges humanity to understand the need of the hour to conserve every drop of water.
The clip that has surfaced on multiple social media platforms and gone viral is from Metghar village near Trimbakeshwar in Maharashtra. The viral video has been viewed over 36,000 times since this article was written.

In the 19-second long video clip, several buckets and ropes can be seen thrown down in an almost empty well in hopes to fetch some leftover water out of it. Amidst all this, a tribal woman wearing a sari can be seen descending into the deep rocky well to get some water, that too even without any safety equipment.
Netizens are shocked to view the saddening video and are now tagging the officials and regional political representatives to look into the matter.
