Tej Pratap Yadav’s unceremonious exit from Varanasi hotel: His luggage shifted out, staff misbehaved

According to reports, the minister was not in his room when his luggage was moved out. When Yadav’s personal assistant learned about the event, he filed a complaint with the police, requesting stern punishment against the hotel. The hotel management has been sent with a formal complaint.

New Delhi: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and Bihar Minister Tej Pratap Yadav was reportedly forced to vacate a hotel in Varanasi last night, after some heated arguments over hotel staff breaking into his room. According to reports, his possessions were moved out of his room to the lobby, in his absence.

The workers at the Arcadia Hotel, where Yadav was staying, reportedly broke into his room and removed his possessions. They remained at the reception.

According to reports, the minister was not in his room when his luggage was moved out. When Yadav’s personal assistant learned about the event, he filed a complaint with the police, requesting stern action against the hotel. The hotel management has been sent with a formal complaint.

According to Assistant Vishal Sinha, the luggage was kept in room number 205 and 206 at Arkadia Hoel. Minister Tj Pratap Yadav was staying in room no 206 while personal assistants and security personnel were stuck in 205.

While the minister and all others reached the hotel after having a boating session in the Ganges on Friday night, the belongings of the persons from both rooms were kept outside, at the reception. On questioning the hotel personnel in this regard, it was told that this was done at the behest of the GM of the hotel, Sanjay Kumar.


The police arrived at the hotel and began examining the incident. They questioned a hotel employee who was shown in a viral social media video. Yadav was seen in the footage sitting inside a white car. The vehicle eventually exited the hotel grounds.

In this regard, DCP Kashi Banaras Gautam said that according to the hotel manager, both rooms were booked online by someone else. While the minister and his people had kept their belongings without booking this room.
