Telangana: BJP MP booked for making derogatory remarks against CM KCR

The complaint said that Arvind’s disparaging words against the person designated at a respected post degraded his public image

New Delhi: Telangana police have filed a case against Bharatiya Janta Party MP Dharmapuri Arvind for his alleged derogatory remarks toward Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.

The action was taken after an advocate accused the lawmaker of using abusive language for KCR in a press conference held earlier this month.

The complaint said that Arvind’s disparaging words against the person designated at a respected post degraded his public image at a larger expanse to stir up discontent from the government.

“The words were intentionally meant against the Telangana CM, to create a feeling of enmity, the advocate said and sought legal action against Arvind”, police informed.

During the press meet, Arvind had called KCR ‘incompetent, corrupt and lazy’ while criticizing the state government for its policies.

“Basing on the complaint, after taking permission from a local court, a case under Section 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and other sections of the Indian Penal Code was registered, and an investigation is underway”, the police told.

The state police further added that it will soon issue a notice to Dharmapuri Arvind regarding the case.

Previously, the Lok Sabha member was booked over allegedly morphing a picture of KCR and posting it online. The Hyderabad police had registered a case on the basis of a complaint by TRS Social Media Convenor Y Sathish Reddy.
