
New Delhi: In a major success for the security forces, the terrorist who gunned down a bank manager inside the office premises, was eliminated on Wednesday.
The security forces had lauched a massive hunt for the terrorist after ghastly murder in broad daylight left the nation in shock. After cornering the terrorists in Shopian district today, the security personnel gunned down 2 terrorits after a fierce encounter.
“One of the slain ultras was involved in killing of a bank manager in Kulgam earlier this month,” J&K police tweeted today.
According to Kashmir police, the terrorists killed in the encounter have been identified as Jan Mohammad Lone & his associate Tufail Gunai. Both of them belonged to terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).

“Jan Mohd Lone was apparently involved in the killing of bank manager on June 2 in Kulgam district,” reported a leading daily quoting DGP Dilbagh Singh.
Vijay Kumar, hailing from Hanumangarh in Rajasthan, was a young recruit in the banking services and was posted as bank manager in Kulgam district. On June 2, a terrorist came looking for him and shot him dead inside the office, the video of which also surfaced, creating huge anger & outrage.
Reports suggest that another enocunter is underway in Kulgam’s Kujar vilage, where security forces have cornerd a terrorist suspected of role in targeted killing of school teacher Rajni Bala. The 36-year-old was shot dead by terrorists in the Gopalpara area of Kulgam on June 8.
