Toolkit case: BJP tears into Oppn for stoking row over Disha Ravi’s arrest, Giriraj Singh asks ‘how old was Ajmal Kasab?’

Senior BJP leader Giriraj Singh called out the ‘opportunistic mindset’ of Opposition. Taking to twitter, the Union Minister accused Congress and other parties of rallying behind anti-national forces.

New Delhi: The arrest of 21-year-old activist Disha Ravi from Bengaluru triggered war of words with Congress raising hue and cry over ‘silencing of democratic voices’ and BJP retaliating with strong counter.

From Rahul Gandhi to Arvind Kejriwal, many Opposition leaders voiced their opposition on Disha’s arrest, called it an attack on India’s democracy and also an attempt to silence the nation.

The theory was countered and tore apart by many BJP leader who took strong objection to political rivals for resorting to ant-India stand on issues of national interest.

Senior BJP leader Giriraj Singh called out the ‘opportunistic mindset’ of Opposition. Taking to twitter, the Union Minister accused Congress and other parties of rallying behind anti-national forces.

“In pursuit of power, parties must not stoop so low that they start taking sides of anti-national forces,” he tweeted.

Responding to young age of Disha Ravi, he asked how old was terrorist Ajmal Kasab when he rained bullets and massacred so many people in Mumbai.

Delhi Police Chief also spoke on the arrest of Disha Ravi today. He said, “Law does not differentiate between a 22-year-old and a 50-year-old. She was produced before a court which sent her to 5-day Police custody.”

How BJP flayed Opposition for ‘needless row’ over Disha arrest

Series of BJP leaders have taken the Opposition head-on for creating needless controversy over Disha Ravi arrest.

They say that Congress govt finds it okay to probe national icons like Sachin and Lata Mangeshkar but finds fault with arrest of Greta Thunber’s co-conspirators.

Saying that age has nothing do with crime, Union minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat tweeted: “If age is the criteria then Param Veer Chakra Second Lt Arun Khetarpal, martyred at 21 is who I am proud of. Not some toolkit propagandists.”

BJP’s IT cell in-charge Amit Malviya said, “The Left has been using young impressionable minds as cannon fodder for their deranged politics for a long time. From JNU to Jamia, AMU to Nadwa and now Disha Ravi, are all part of their sinister plot…Unfortunately they are abandoned soon after they have served their purpose.”

BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia said, “a criminal is a criminal, gender and age are immaterial if not a juvenile. Just for your knowledge, Kasab was 21 when he attacked Mumbai. Supporting ‘farmers’ is not a crime but conspiring against India and inciting others surely is,” he said.
