New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday acknowledged and appreciated the hard work of Biplab Deb government and said that the impact of double-engine govt in Tripura was distinct from 30 years of previous govts and the progress was visible in the state.

PM Modi said this while addressing people via video conference as he inaugurated the Maitri bridge over river Feni between India and Bangladesh.

PM Modi listed out several development initiatives taken under Biplab Deb government and said that BJP-IPFT has achieved in 3 years what previous govts couldn’t in last 30 years.

# Benefits of cooking gas has been passed to 8.5 families
# 100% villages have become open defecation free
# Piped potable water to 5 lakh families
# Infrastructure has grown manifold in last 3 years

PM Modi further said that in 3 years, farmers, daily wage earners and small entrepreneurs have got benefits due to BJP government in the state.

Tripura, a power surplus state

Tripura has set new benchmarks of growth by become power surplus state in the country.

PM Modi also showered praise on Tripura govt’s achievement for becoming a power surplus State. Under Biplab Deb’s strict administration, more than 8,50,000 households are being provided with electricity.

Terming Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb ‘popular’, he said Mr. Deb’s government, with the active support of the Centre, has fulfilled all promises made to the people.

Before the 2018 Assembly elections ‘we promised to give a double-engine government – one engine in Tripura and one engine in Delhi’, PM Modi said to emphasise how the same party government in the State and the Centre really worked to achieve all-round success and growth.
