Uttar Pradesh: 5 Dead, several injured in a massive blast at licensed firecracker factory in Saharanpur district

Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath has condoled the loss of lives.

New Delhi: In a shocking incident, at least five people lost their lives in a blast at a licensed firecracker factory in Uttar Pradesh’s  Saharanpur district.

On of the deceased is identified as the man who ran the factory with a license.

After the incident, the injured person was rushed and admitted to the district hospital, who has been referred to Chandigarh PGI for treatment.

According to police, there were around 7 to 8 people who were working in the factory at the time when the blast took place.

It is said that the incident took place in the Balwantpur village near Sourana in Thana Sarsawa area. In the dangerous explosion three people died on the spot. Later two more deaths were reported. A total of 5 people have died so far in the explosion. It is said that all the deceased were residents of the Salempur police station area of Sarsawa.

Soon after the incident was reported, Saharanpur IG Dr Preetinder Singh reached the spot and inspected the situation.

The victim has been identified as Rahul, Sagar, Kartik, Vardhanpal and Sumit.
