Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami visit home town, lays foundation of projects over Rs 100 crores

This was first visit of Pushkar Singh Dhami to his hometown after becoming chief minister of the state. As his convoy reached Khatima, he was welcomed by hordes of people who had lined up the streets for his welcome ceremony.

New Delhi: Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami visited his home town Khatima on Saturday and got a rousing reception by party workers as well as locals. The Chief Minister was garlanded and hailed by locals as ‘son of the soil’.

CM Dhami inaugurated the martyr Amar Dev Bahadur memorial gate at Kanakpur, paid respects to the martyr’s family members and also announced naming of a government inter college after him.

CM Dhami’s visit to his hometown was marked by the foundation laying ceremony of several projects, amounting to more than Rs 100 crores.

On visit to home district, CM Dhami also planted a sapling at Pantnagar annexe and cycled as part of an event to show support for sportspersons vying for medal at the Olympics.

An account of projects in Khatima

CM Dhami laid foundation stone and inaugurated more than 100 developmental projects. He inaugurated the beautified Aditya Chowk at Kiccha and unveiled foundation stone for construction of bus stand at Bandia. The Chief Minister directed officials to allocate funds and oversee construction of roads and highways for connecting key links of the city.

Beautification of city will be taken up with an estimated expenditure of Rs 678.86 lakh while canal widening will be taken up at an expected expense of Rs 24.70 crore.

Series of projects like improving school infrastructure, stadium construction, building small overbridges for better transport will also be begin shortly.

The Chief Minister also announced slew of other projects including construction of new bus stand in Khatima, revamping old bus stand into a huge complex, a vibrant sports stadium, community centre, nursing and pharmacy college and many more.

Dhami receives rousing welcome in hometown

CM Dhami also held a roadshow on his open jeep, which was followed by party workers. Locals also showered flower petals on the newly elected CM while his convoy moved through the city.

CM Dhami visited Nanakmatta Dera Sahib where he prayed for peace and prosperity of the people. Dhami exhorted the youths to cooperate with him in achieving the development of the state.

Earlier, the chief minister also participated in a road show in Rudrapur and interacted with local members and office bearers of the BJP.

Pushkar Singh Dhami is the youngest chief minister of Uttarakhand. He became the third chief minister of state in 4 months by replacing replacing Tirath Singh Rawat.
