Uttarkashi Tunnel Rescue: Shiva-like figure forms near the mouth of Silkayara tunnel, video viral

Many were even seeing the unfortunate tunnel collapse as a consequence of Baba Boukhnag’s anger, whose temple was demolished by the company in charge of building the Uttarkashi tunnel

New Delhi:  Yesterday, a Shiva-like figure was formed at the opening of Uttrakashi’s Silkhaya tunnel, in which 41 entrapped laborers have been fighting for their lives for the last 15 days.

The shape appeared due to the water seeping from a nearby mountain holding the holy local temple of the Boukhnag deity.

Locals are now believing that the Shiva-like figure is an indication from god that Shiva has himself arrived to bless the stranded workers on the holy day of Kartik Purnima.

Previously, there was a huge outcry amongst the locals of Uttarkashi who voiced their anger against the pulling down of the holy temple of their local deity Baba Boukhnag.

Many were even seeing the unfortunate tunnel collapse as a consequence of Baba Boukhnag’s anger, whose temple was demolished by the company in charge of building the Uttarkashi tunnel, a part of the center’s ambitious Char Dham project.

However, respecting the local beliefs, the government agencies involved in the rescue operation later built another temple of the Baukhnag deity right at the entrance of the tunnel. Following this, they also offered their prayers to him with the hope of the successful rescue of all the entrapped workers.

Besides Locals and officials of the rescue agency’s team, Uttrakhand’s Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Union Minister VK Singh, and ace tunnel expert Arnold Dix also bowed down in the holy Baukhnag temple.
