New Delhi: A video clip of several youngsters dancing and creating reels at the holy Har Ki Pauri in Haridwar surfaced online and drew instant ire from the saints as well as local residents of the city.
In the video, a group of individuals can be seen grooving to the popular Bollywood song ‘Kala Chashma’.
Tanmay Vashisht, General Secretary of Ganga Sabha has filed a complained with local police in the matter and has demanded strict action. He further described the act as ‘playing with the dignity of Dharmanagari’.

The Haridwar police have launched an investigation against the identified individuals, though they are yet to make an official statement yet.
Meanwhile, Hindu outfits and social media users have expressed outrage at the incident, urging the tourists to maintain the culture and values of the holy city.
A Twitter user slammed the individuals saying, “Shame to their upbringing”, while another wrote, “Disgusting! Atleast , remind yourself of the sanctity of these temples. The culture of instant gratification coupled with Bollywoodisation of society has made so foolish”.
