VIDEO: WFI chairman misbehaves with TV reporter, snatches mike, pushes him away when confronted on #Metoo allegations

When asked about the allegations against him, he denied all the charges and said that he “will not resign”.

New Delhi: Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chairman Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh lost his cool during a Live Tv interview on Times Now.

When confronted by TIMES NOW’s Pranesh Kumar Roy over the allegations of sexual exploitation of women wrestlers, he misbehaved with the reporter.

When the anchor asked him about the demands of the athletes, he can be seen smiling in the Live interview.

Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh said someone who has been harassed must come to the fore and proof it.

When asked about the allegations against him, he denied all the charges and said that he “will not resign”.

He can be seen pushing the reporter forcefully and removing the TV’s mike.

The Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chairman can also be seen asking the reporter and the cameraman to leave the place.

Singh is a BJP Lok Sabha MP from Uttar Pradesh’s Kaiserganj.

Earlier, in a Facebook post, he said he will “expose” the “political conspiracy” in a press conference today in the afternoon.

His post comes hours after some wrestlers met Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur on Thursday.

On Thursday several ace wrestlers like Vinesh Phogat, Sakshee Mallikkh and Bajrang Punia participated in the sit-in protest at Jantar Mantar in the national capital. The protest started on Wednesday.

The wrestlers who are protesting in the national capital have leveled charges of sexual harassment of women wrestlers by the WFI president and its coaches. They have reported mismanagement in the functioning of the federation. They also demanded the resignation of Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.

Earlier, Vinesh Phogat had alleged that coaches who are favourites of the WFI misbehave with women and harass them.  Phogat also accused the wrestling federation chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh of calling her ‘khota sikka’ after her defeat at the Tokyo Olympics 2020.
