Vigilance Department raids Bihar govt engineer’s residence; seizes over 4 crore cash 

New Delhi: The Vigilance Investigation Bureau (VIB ) conducted raids at 3 to 4 premises on the residence of the Bihar government officials on Saturday. In the raid, it is reported that over 4 crore cash was seized by the vigilance department. The raids were carried out at different locations in Bihar’s Patna and Kishanganj districts associated with Sanjay Kumar Rai.

Who is Sanjay Kumar Rai?

Sanjaya Kumar Rai has been working in the Bihar government as an executive engineer. He is currently posted at the Kishanganj division of the public works department.

He is accused of taking bribes for providing benefits. It is said to be that when the team of vigilance officers arrived at his residence they found that Rai kept illegal money at the premises of a junior engineer and cashier under him.

Searches conducted at the residence of Rai’s subordinates

When the team found that the money is at Sanjay Kumar Rai’s subordinates, it also raided their homes. Due to a big amount of cash, the cash counting machine was also brought to the residences.
