Viral video: Noida woman thrashes e-rickshaw driver over a minor scratch on car; arrested

The victim, who can be seen defending himself from the anger of the woman, gained huge support from netizens as soon as the video went viral on Twitter.

New Delhi: A month after a video depicting a fight between a young woman and a guy onboard a Delhi Metro train went viral on social media platforms, a similar episode was witnessed in Noida Sector 110, where a woman was reportedly hurled abuse and dragged an e-rickshaw driver by his collar over a petty issue.

According to the details posted with the video on the microblogging site, the incident happened on Saturday morning in Uttar Pradesh’s Noida, where a tricenarian woman lost her cool following a minor scratch on her car. In the video, she can be seen slapping and abusing the e-rickshaw driver simultaneously for more than a minute.

The victim, who can be seen defending himself from the anger of the woman, gained huge support from netizens as soon as the video went viral on Twitter, demanding prompt action from the Noida police. Amid soaring rage on social media, the security officials took swift action and arrested the accused, Kiran Singh– a resident of Shramik Kunj.

“In the said case, immediately on the complaint of the e-rickshaw driver, the woman was brought to the police station by the police station Phase-2 and based on the complaint of the rickshaw driver, a complaint was filed against the said woman.

A case has been registered at Noida and legal proceedings are in process,” tweeted Noida Police.
