Viral Video: Vegetarian man receives chicken piece in online ordered paneer biryani, says, “Religious sentiments hurt”

New Delhi: If you are a vegetarian consumer who is looking to order some tasty meals through online food delivery apps, better go with a 100% pure-veg restaurant or you might end up finding something you definitely don’t want in your ‘Veg’ food.

Why are we saying this? well, in recent times, one after another cases of vegetarian customers spotting chicken or other non-veg items in their online ordered food have come to light on social media.

The latest amongst them is from Pune, where a hardcore vegetarian man received a chicken piece inside the meal he ordered using online food delivery services.

Lashing out at the food delivery company, the guy then narrated his ordeal on social media, accusing the restaurant of hurting his sentiments by leaving chicken inside his vegetarian food.

Pune Man Finds Chiecken in Pure-Veg Meal

Taking to his X (Previously Twitter) handle, the user ‘@Pankajshuklaki2, on Monday, dropped a video featuring a small piece of meat inside the Paneer Biryani he ordered from a nearby food outlet.

In the caption of the video, he wrote, “ordered paneer biryani from pk biryani house karve nagar pune maharashtra and I found a chicken piece in it(I am a vegetarian) I already got a refund but this is still a sin since I am a religious person and it has hurt my religious sentiments.’

Netizens React

Soon after the video went viral on social media, several netizens jumped into the comment box & raised concerns on the matter.

While some suggested that he should take legal action against the restaurant, others reminded him to only order food from a pure vegetarian eatery the next time.

One user wrote, “Suggestion – Order from a pure veg restaurant.” Another added, “Buy only from pure veg ones. Never buy anything from a veg-nonveg combined eatery. Simple as that!” A third comment read, “Veg or Non Veg Inside our Stomach we have Lots or Worms.”

Zomato’ Response

Meanwhile, Zomato also reacted to Pankaj’s post & requested him to provide the order’s details so they can look into the matter.

Taking to the viral video’s comment section, the food delivery company wrote.”our highest priority is to ensure that we never compromise with anyone’s sentiments. Please share your order ID or registered phone number via DM so that we can get this checked.”
