New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugrate the Kochi Water Metro service on April 25, 2023 at Thiruvananthapuram. This will be India’s first Water Metro.
The Kochi Water Metro service will not only boost the economic growth but it will also boost the tourism in Kochi region.
The first water metro service will begin from April 26.
About Kochi Water Metro:
Over Rs 1,136.83 crore has been spent on the Kochi water metro. The Chief Minister of Kerala Pinarayi Vijayan has termed it as a “dream project” of the state.

This Kochi water metro will be connecting 10 islands in and around Kochi through hybrid boats which is based on battery-operated electric.
A tolal of 78 electric boats and 38 terminals will be availble in the water metro.
The Kochi Water Metro is funded by Kerala government and German funding agency KfW.
According to reports, the minimum price of the ticket is Rs 20 per person.

On April 25th, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also flag off Kerala’s first Vande Bharat Express between Thiruvananthapuram and Kasargod at Thiruvananthapuram Central Station.
PM Modi will also lay the foundation stone of various rail projects.
