New Delhi: Actor turned politician Archana Gautam made it to the headlines after her tweet regarding her visit to Tirupati temple in Andhra Pradesh. She shared a video alleging that she was asked Rs 10,500 for ‘darshan’. She also made a strong allegation saying that the Hindu temple is a place of loot now.

Sharing the video, she said that she was mistreated by the temple authorities and claimed that authorities charged her Rs 10,500 for ‘darshan’. She added that the Jagan Mohan Reddy government in Andhra Pradesh should take action against the staff at the temple.
Adding a caption to the video, she wrote, “India’s Hindu religious places have become a den of loot, in the name of religion, Tirupati Balaji indecent with women, action should be taken against this TTD employee. I request Andhra Government. And in the name of VIP darshan, Rs 10,500 is taken from one person. stop robbing it.”
Who is Archana Gautam?
Archana is an actor-model turned politician, who is part of the Indian National Congress. She contested in the 2022 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections from the Hastinapur seat and lost. During her modelling career, Archana has won the title of Miss UP in 2014 and Miss Bikini India in 2018. She also went on to represent India in Miss Cosmos.
In Bollywood, she has acted in three films namely, Haseena Parker, Baarat Company and Varanasi Junction. Apart from that, she has also done a few films in South India.
Meanwhile, the temple authorities claimed that these are false allegations and that no such amount was demanded from her. The authorities also claim that she along with Shivakant Tiwari bought the tickets on August 30 and wanted to claim the ‘darshan’ on August 31. When they were denied, Archana barged into the office and shouted foul language.
But the lady in the video released by her on Social Media alleged that the Additional EO Office staff have demanded her Rs.10,000 for the ticket which is absolutely false. (10/n)
