Who is Amit Lodha, Bihar cadre IPS officer who inspired web-series ‘Khakee’ booked over corruption charges?

New Delhi: Bihar cadre IPS officer Amit Lodha has been booked by the Special Vigilance Unit of the state for allegedly misusing his official position for financial benefits.

The officer rose to fame after the release of the web series ‘Khakee’ based on his book ‘Bihar Diaries’.

In the statement issued by the agency on Thursday said the IPS officer signed an agreement with a private firm that caused him financial gains. He allegedly agreed to a deal with a firm that produced a web series based on his book.

The statement further said Lodha is not an established story writer nor was he authorised to write a book and use it for commercial purposes,” vigilance unit said in the statement.

In the complaint filed by the Economic Offences Wing of the Bihar Police, the officer made a deal with the production house Friday Story Teller while he was serving as an IPS officer.

How is his wife involved in this deal?

According to the complaint, it has been claimed that atransaction of ₹ 49 lakh was transferred to his wife’s account.

Sources in the police claim the money was deposited in his wife’s account even before the deal was finalised with the production house.
