Who was Jehangir Pandole? Cyrus Mistry’s co-passenger who got killed in fatal car crash

New Delhi: Former KPMG Global Strategy Group (GSG) Director Jehangir Dinshaw Pandole was the second person to be killed in the car crash along with Cyrus Mistry in Sunday’s fatal accident. Jehangir Pandole and 2 other people were accompanying the former chairperson of Tata Group Cyrus Mistry in the ill-fated Mercedes-Benz SUV, when it met with an accident.
The mishap happened when they were returning from Ahmedabad to Mumbai after attending a Parsi religious function.
What police said on car accident?
Their car reportedly hit a road divider on the bridge on the Surya river. Police said the reason behind accident was over-speeding and also error of judgement by the driver.
Local CCTV footages show that the car had crossed the Saryu river check post around 2.21 pm and the accident occurred 20 km ahead. Police said that Darius (Jehangir’s elder brother) and Anahita (wife of Darius) were seated in the front, while Jehangir and Cyrus were in the back of the car and not wearing seat belts.
Who was Jehangir Pandole?
Jehangir Pandole was the former director of KPMG’s GSG at its London office from 2014-19, according to his LinkedIn profile.
He also worked to upskill practitioners via an extensive catalogue of courses ranging in areas like foundational, proposition, analytical, technology and core skills.
Pandole had completed his Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from London Business School, UK, in 2000.
He was a professional squash player and was selected to represent India at the Asian Junior Squash Championships in 1991.
Childhood friends: Pandole and Mistry
Darius Pandole, Managing Director and CEO of JM Financial Private Equity is said to be have been childhood friend of Cyrus. Darius and Cyrus had studied together at a school in Mumbai.
