Yogi Adityanath didn’t take dip in holy Ganga because….: ‘Rattled’ Akhilesh takes swipe again (VIDEO)

Akhilesh’s swipe comes in the backdrop of CM Yogi accompanying the PM on visit to Varanasi including a grand reception to Kashi corridor.

New Delhi: The Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday took a jibe at UP CM Yogi Adityanath for not taking a dip in the holy Ganga. SP chief said that Yogi Adityanath knows that Ganga is dirty and therefore he refrained from taking a bath in the river.

“Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is well aware that none of the rivers are clean hence he decided not to take a dip in Maa Ganga,” Akhilesh told reporters.

A holy dip in the Ganga followed by inauguration of Kashi Vishwanath corridor was one of the highlights of PM Modi’s visit to Varanasi yesterday. As PM Modi took dip in Ganga, the image flashed across social media and became a big internet sensation. Shiv bhakts saw it as a rare footage that will remain etched in their memory for many years to come.

Akhilesh’s swipe comes in the backdrop of CM Yogi accompanying the Prime Minister on every visit to the holy town including PM’s grand reception to Kashi corridor inauguration, Ganga Aarti & other events.

Yesterday, CM Yogi had targeted former SP govt led by Akhilesh Yadav for the ‘filth and congestion’ in the city. CM Yogi, during the corridor inauguration, lambasted opposition parties for keeping the country’s spiritual capital in neglect & shambles for many years.

BJP hits out at Akhilesh over sneering remarks on PM Modi

BJP has lashed out at the SP chief for badmouthing PM Modi & using sneering remarks against him.

“Such careless remark against the Prime Minister is unbecoming of a person who has held CM’s chair before. Such comments are not expected from a former CM,” said BJP spokesperson.

Apparently rattled by the grand inauguration of Kashi corridor and the political mileage that BJP might derive from it, Akhilesh had made insulting remarks against PM Modi.

Bahot achchi baat hai. Ek mahina nahi, do mahina, teen mahina, wahin rahein. Achchi baat hai. Woh jagah rehne waali hai. Aakhri samay pe wahin raha jaata hai, Banaras mein (It is a good thing. He should stay there for two months, three months. It is a place worth staying at. People spend their last days there in Banaras),” he had said.
