Yogi Govt 2.0: Uttar Pradesh’s health infrastructure emerges as model for the country

Lucknow: After independence, the health services of UP, which had deteriorated decade after decade, were not only brought back on track in the last 6 years, but today the state’s health infrastructure has emerged as a model for the country.

The government has not only worked to improve the condition of government hospitals, but also engaged itself in arranging telemedicine services and constructing health ATMs for ensuring presence of proper health care services in the state.

It is worth mentioning that even the World Health Organization has praised the state government’s Covid-19 management.

The Yogi government adopted the One District One Medical College policy to improve health services.  Under this, till now quality health services are being provided to the people from 65 medical colleges in the state.  At the same time, the construction of 22 medical colleges is progressing on a war footing.  Besides, AIIMS is being operated in Gorakhpur and Rae Bareli so that the people of the state do not have to go to other states for treatment of serious diseases.

Along with this, 552 Government Ayurvedic Hospitals have been developed as Health Wellness Centers.  Apart from this, 60-bed hospitals have been established in 11 districts of the state.

The Yogi government gave more than 250 advance support services in the last 6 years to move patients from one place to another.  Along with this, 2200 ambulances were made available to the people of the state under 2270 National Ambulance Service and 108 Service, due to which patients are being taken to the hospital without any delay in emergency situations without any inconvenience.

Leading India’s fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, Uttar Pradesh under the leadership of Yogi Adityanath has so far administered both the doses of covid-19 vaccine to more than 16.88 crore people while more than 39 crore people have been given at least one dose of the vaccine in the entire state.

On the other hand, 9 Community Health Centers and 14 Primary Health Centers were constructed to improve the health services in the rural areas of the state.

With this, 1838 government and 2150 private sector MBBS seats were increased to benefit medical students.

At a Glance:

– Increase of 1747 government and private PG seats

– Increase of 7000 seats in Nursing and 2000 seats in Paramedical

– Intensive campaign against AES-JE virus under Special Communicable Disease Control / Dastak campaign.

-Purvanchal region free from encephalitis.  Up to 96 percent control of deaths due to this disease.

-Free medical facility up to Rs.5 lakh per beneficiary to 8.90 crore beneficiaries under Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana and Mukhyamantri Jan Arogya Yojana.

-Treatment of 11,63,24,557 crore patients in Mukhyamantri Arogya Swasthya Melas.  -Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Cashless Medical Scheme started for state employees and pensioners.

-Inauguration of Health ATM.  Establishment of health ATMs in PHCs of the state.

-Nursing/Paramedical courses in 300 institutions under Mission Niramaya.

-35 closed ANM training centers were started again.

– Rs. 1 647 crores allocated for the Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission in the new financial year.

– For the National Health Mission in the new financial year, Rs 12, 631 crores.

-In the new financial year, Rs  250 crores for Ayushman Bharat Mukhyamantri Arogya Yojana.

-For the establishment of medical colleges in the new financial year, Rs  1400 crores
