Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government, led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, is working on a strategy to make the state a trillion-dollar economy and has devised a plan based on nine core issues.
These core issues include important matters such as emerging sectors alongside agriculture, rapid urbanization, and industrial infrastructure. By developing these areas rapidly, the state government aims not only to position Uttar Pradesh as a leading state within the nation but also on the global stage.
It is noteworthy that in the meeting of the Chief Secretary with the representatives of the World Bank, the strategy to make Uttar Pradesh a one trillion dollar economy was discussed. The delegates were informed about the strategy as well as future plans during this meeting. Along with this, the government’s action plan on these nine core issues was informed.
Focus is on agriculture technology and infrastructure
In a presentation to World Bank representatives, Deloitte India, which is working as a consultant to help Uttar Pradesh become a trillion-dollar economy, shared information about various strategies. Under this, the first strategy would be to establish Uttar Pradesh as the food basket of the country.
As per the decided strategy, a super app will be developed, while start-ups based on agriculture technology will be promoted. Additionally, dairy FPOs will be encouraged, and the economically sustainable Gaushala model will be adopted. Besides, a poultry production cluster will also be established.
Under the second strategy, the state government will develop world-class industrial infrastructure in Uttar Pradesh. According to the strategy, four special investment regions will be developed in the state, GIS-based land bank, a logistic hub, and multi-modal connectivity will be ensured. Furthermore, there will be a focus on dry ports and raw material banks as well.
Goal to be achieved through MSMEs and emerging technology
Chief Minister Yogi believes that the MSME sector in Uttar Pradesh has enormous potential. The third strategy involves developing industrial parks, creating Pledge parks, and ensuring ODOP (One District One Product) and export facilities. Efforts will also be made to promote them through e-commerce platforms.
In the fourth strategy, the focus is on the sunrise sector. The goal is to promote emerging fields like semiconductors/chips, aerospace and defence, green energy, clean mobility, and drone technology. This is an area where startups can provide opportunities for both employment and self-employment.
Cities will be developed on the basis of technology, special focus on tourism
The fifth strategy revolves around emerging tech clusters. In this, different districts will be developed with distinct scopes of technology. Accordingly, Lucknow will be developed as an AI City, Kanpur will focus on Drones and Robotics, Prayagraj/Varanasi will be Engineering Research and Development hotspots, and Gautam Buddh Nagar will transform into an Emerging Tech and Data Center Hub.
In the sixth strategy, attention is given to attractive tourist destinations. Special tourism investment regions will be identified and developed, along with a focus on other tourist destinations and spiritual tourism. Additionally, there will be a focus on digitizing tourist assets and routes.
Rapid Urbanization and Concept of Solar Parks
Under the seventh strategy, the process of urbanization will be accelerated. The beautification and development of cities will align with the envisioned goals. Additionally, 100 townships will be built, and the infrastructure for water, garbage, and solid waste management will be increased. Municipal performance awards and mobility planning will also be introduced.
Clean and quality power is another integral part of the strategy. This involves modernizing the distribution infrastructure and conceptualizing 4 GW green energy transmission corridors and solar parks for industries.
Recognizing the significance of education in the context of building a one trillion dollar economy, there’s a goal to make UP an educational hub in India. This includes the development of five education townships and proposing the establishment of a Skill Hub in mission mode, all in the education sector. Moreover, the plan mentions the creation of over 5000 model schools.
