New Delhi: Amid the raging debate and demonstrations over suspended BJP functionary Nupur Sharma’s alleged blasphemous remarks on Prophet Muhammad, a Kashmir-based YouTuber Faisal Wani uploaded a highly objectionable & disgusting post on Friday night.
His repugnant video went viral, within hours of him uploading on the social media. In the video, he shared a graphic clip which showed him decapitating the suspdended BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma. As the video circulated, it created a furore on the social media. Lot of netizens tore into him for the highly offensive post and tagged the agencies to take stringent action against him.
Facing flak from all quarters, the YouTuber removed the video from his channel and also apologised to the audience with folded hands.
The Kashmiri YouTuber Faisal Wani runs a fitness channel by the name ‘Deep Pain Fitness’.
The now-deleted video showed Faisal Wani appeared bare-bodied, saying ‘no FIR, no action’. He goes on to behead the digital effigy of Nupur Sharma, then picks up the head and throws it away.
In his apology,the YouTuber said, “I made a VFX in the video. It went viral in no time. Yes, I made the video but I did not have any ill intention. I deleted the video and I apologise if it hurt anyone.”
Further apologizing for hurting the sentiments, he said that he had no intention of hurting the religious sentiments of other religions.
“I am a simple person. My business of ladies’ garments has not been doing well. You can verify and check my background. I am from a middle-class person,” the YouTuber said.
He also urged people to get this video circulated as much as it can, so that that people get to know that he had no intention of hurting somebody.
Nupur Sharma, the former BJP spokesperson is at the centre of raging controversy, owing to her remarks on Prophet Muhammad in a televised debate. Amid the mounting pressure from within & Arab nations, the party suspended her and the government distanced itself from the statement & termed her ‘fringe element’.
