YouTubers fight: Delhi HC bars Vivek Bindra’s channel partner from casting aspersions on Sandeep Maheshwari

Vivek Bindra & Sandeep Maheshwari have been engaged in an intense online since December 11, when the latter’s video titled ‘Big Scam Exposed’ ignited a huge controversy between the two

New Delhi: On Monday, the High Court of Delhi restrained Vikash Kontala (YouTube channel partner of controversial motivational speaker Vivek Bindra) from uploading & sharing any kind of defamatory or belittling content against acclaimed Youtuber Sandeep Maheshwari.

The order came after Justice Prateek Jalan took note of a prima facie (sufficient at first impression) connection between Kontala and Vivek Bindra, observing that Kontala’s content against Sandeep amounts to an obvious attempt to bypass the order of Faridabad’s civil court (dated 22 December 2023) that has put a restrain on both Vivek Bindra & Sandeep Maheshwari from making defamatory remarks or posting any form of disparaging materials against each other.

Commenting on the digital war between the two popular YouTubers, Justice Jalan’s bench remarked, “I don’t mean any disrespect, but this is some sort of war that is starting on these YouTube channels. It is not that I am seeing this for the first time. There seems to be a very low level of discourse during this fighting between some rivals.,”

Reasoning for the Injuction order passed against Kontala till the next Date of Hearing (NDOH), the High Court further commented that Sandeep had made a prima facie and if the said order is not passed, it will result in irreparable damages to the YouTuber.

A portion from the court’s order read, “Till the next date of hearing, Defendant No. 3 is restrained from publishing any defamatory/disparaging video against the plaintiff on any online or offline mode in line with the orders passed by the civil court,”

Sandeep Maheshwari vs Vivek Bindra’s war of words

For the unversed, Vivek Bindra & Sandeep Maheshwari have been engaged in an intense online war since December 11, when the latter’s video titled ‘Big Scam Exposed’ ignited a huge controversy between the two famous YouTubers.

In the viral video, Sandeep was seen interacting with several young individuals who told him how a popular Indian motivational speaker lured them into buying useless online courses at a hefty price.

Although nobody in the video took Vivek’s name directly, the YouTuber, believing that it was him who was being targetted, made another video in which he was seen rebutting the scam allegation made by the people in Mashwari’s Big Exposed Video.

This triggered a full-fledged war between the two well-known YouTube icons who then went on attacking one another by sharing several videos and making numerous defamatory & controversial statements about each other.
