After leading team India to a U-19 World Cup victory, Virat Kohli made his debut for the senior team on 18 August 2008 against Sri Lanka. The reel shows moments from Virat’s journey that are not only close to him but to his fans too. Virat’s kit and bats, his debut, 2011 Cricket World Cup victory, 2013 Champions Trophy, Kohli’s iconic cover drive, everything is covered in the video. Sharing the reel, the batter wrote, “14 years ago, it all started and it’s been an honour,” with the Indian flag in the caption.

On his debut in Dambulla, opening the batting with his Delhi mate Gautam Gambhir, Virat failed to make a strong impression as he was dismissed by Nuwan Kulasekara on just 12 runs. India lost that ODI game as the team managed a total of just 146 runs. It was in the fourth ODI on the tour where he scored his maiden fifty. Since then he has scored 122 international half-centuries and 70 international hundreds.

Virat Kohli has taken the words ‘consistency’ and ‘fitness’ to the next level. However, there are a lot of talks about his current form and his 71st century. He is on a break from the game as India faces Zimbabwe. Next, he will be seen playing in the Asia Cup 2022.
