Abu Dhabi T10: New York Strikers reigns supreme as the ultimate winners of season 7

New York Strikers defeated Deccan Gladiators by 7 wickets in the finals to lift the silverware.

New Delhi: Abu Dhabi T10 league, season seven, has finally found its ultimate champions after 15 days of high-intensity drama, as the Kieron Pollard-led New York Strikers had the last laugh in the finals.

This is the first trophy for the New York Strikers in the Abu Dhabi T10 League history.

The final was played on Saturday, between the eventual winners New York Strikers and the last season’s winners Deccan Gladiators.

New York Strikers’ skipper Kieron Pollard won the toss and invited the Deccan Gladiators to bat first.

Gladiators started the innings on a high with their openers Nicholas Pooran (15) and Kohler-Cadmore once again, giving them a good start early in the innings.

Strikers pulled back the match by talking quick wickets and reducing Gladiators to 57 for 5.

However, Andre Russell (30*) and David Wiese (20*), played some handy shots at the end of the innings to take the total to 91 for 5 in 10 overs.

Sunil Narine was the most successful bowler for the Strikers with 2 wickets under his belt, while Akeal Hosein, Md. Jawadullah and George Scrimshaw took one wicket each.

In reply, the Strikers stumbled at the top of the innings as they were reduced to 38 for 3 in 4.3 overs.


However, Asif Ali (48*) and Kieron Pollard (22*), added 56 not-out runs for the fourth wicket to take the Strikers over the line with 7 wickets and 4 balls to spare, and became the new champions of the Abu Dhabi T10 League.

In bowling, Trent Boult, Nuwan Thushara and Andre Russel took one wicket each for the Gladiators.
