New Delhi: Pakistan’s poor start in the T20 World Cup had dashed its hopes of entering the final stages of tournament but its brilliant victory against Bangladesh and shock defeat of South Africa at the hands minnows Netherlands change the equations drastically. Babar Azam-led Pakistan is one of the strong contenders now for the World Cup as it is slated to challenge New Zealand in semi-final.
Pakistan’s entry into semis buoyed up the mood inside dressing room and skipper Babar Azam was leading the charge with his motivational & pep talk to team mates.
Call it stroke of luck for Pakistan or Proteas’ consistency with being chokers, Pakistan is now geared for the fresh challenge and hoping to enter final by vanquishing Kiwis. In match against Bangladesh, Pak’s superlative performance has given them much needed confidence. Pak bowlers stepped up their game & tilted the game in its favour. The team won match with 5 wickets remaining.
Babar’s moving speech to Pak team
In the pep talk that went viral on social media, Babar Azam can be seen lauding players for their strong show and also encouraging them for the next big encounter ahead.
“Hamein roshni mili hai. Ham uspar khara utre. Excitement thee but hamne usko show nahi kiya. Effort hamne apna 100 percent dena hai chaahe jo marzi ho,” he tells team players in Hindi.
“The way we performed in last 3 matches, this must continue. We have faith in ourselves & this should continue,” spirited Babar tells players in dressing room.
Semi-final against New Zealand on Nov 9
Pakistan is set to play against New Zealand in semifinals on November 9 at Sydney Cricket Ground. The match will begin at 1.30 pm IST. Second semis is scheduled at Adelaide Oval on November 10.
