New Delhi: After Suryakumar Yadav’s desire to red-ball cricket, Ishan Kishan is also set to make a return to the red ball cricket. Kishan was earlier not drafted into the team after the Indian cricketer made himself unavailable for domestic tournaments.
However, at the last moment, the Indian wicket-keeper batsman made himself available for the tournament and asked the Jharkhand State Cricket Association to be included in the squad. The JSCA was confident with Ishan’s return and remarked, “With Ishan, it was never about ability. It was only about whether he was ready to return…”
It will be a new innings for the 26-year-old cricketer who is going through a turbulent career. Earlier, Ishan Kishan’s central contract was scrapped by the BCCI after he decided to miss the Domestic tournaments. However, Kishan made a return to competitive cricket with the 18th DY Patil T20 Cup 2024 against Route Mobile Limited.
Kishan’s return to competitive cricket ended in a decent run of form. Subsequently, he went on to play for the Mumbai Indians in the IPL where he scored 320 runs at an average of 22.86 and a strike rate of 148.84. However, he was not part of the ICC T20 WC squad.
On the other hand, when it comes to the red-ball cricket, the left-hand batsman has only made 2 appearances. Now, with this return, he can hope that he doesn’t get bowled out of cricket!
