New Delhi: Ankita Bhakat and Dhiraj Bommadevara became the first Indian pair to reach the semifinals of the Paris Olympics 2024 crashed out in the bronze medal match against Brady Ellison/Casey Kaufhold from the USA. It was a special day for Casey Kaufhold as well as she became the first female American athlete to reach the podium of an archery event in the Paris Olympics 2024.

The Indian archery team was thoroughly outclassed in the Bronze medal match as Dhiraj and Ankita lost the match 6-2. Earlier, the Indian duo lost their match against the traditional powerhouses of the sport, the Republic of Korea. The Korean duo of Lim Si-Hyeon and Kim Woo-Jin managed to win the game with ease (6-2).
With this result, Deepika Kumari remains the sole archer in the Paris Olympics 2024 who will battle it out tomorrow against Michelle Kroppen of Germany in the quarterfinals.
