Arshdeep Singh faces Khalistani jibe on Twitter; Pak handles behind vicious attack

New Delhi: The nail-biter clash between India and Pakistan on Sunday saw epic encounter between the two teams as Virat Kohli and Mohammed Rizwan hit solid knocks from this side but eventually the Men in Blue lost the cliffhanger in the final moments, at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

Soon after the match, Indian bowler Arshdeep Singh became one for the top Twitter trends for dropping the catch, which apparently left the Pakistanis to take advantage & emerge victorious.

Arshdeep Singh became a target of trolls and today, lot many Pakistani handles lapped up the opportunity to throw much at the Indian cricketer and push its dirty agenda.

Many Twitter handles, reportedly from Pakistan, hurled vile abuse at the young pacer and blamed him for India’s 5-wicket loss to Pakistan in Asia Cup 2020.

Arshdeep dropped the catch of Pakistan’s Asif Ali, who later went on to play a match-winning knock of 16 runs off 8 balls in the Super 4 encounter. Till that point, Asif had not yet opened his account.

A couple of Pakistani users including some journalists took to Twitter to add salt to the wound and also push forward its Khalistani agenda against India.

Wikipedia officials summoned

In yet another controversy related to Arshdeep’s Wikipedia page, he was described as someone belonging to Khalistani camp. Taking into Khalistani slur at the cricketer, the IT Ministry has summoned Wikipedia officials and has sought an explanation as to how he was described as Khalistani on Wikipedia page.

Earlier, BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa pointed out that a co-ordinated campaign was launched by dirty Pakistani IT cells & trolls to build a propaganda against Sikhs in the country.
