Finch has been a prominent player of the white ball and in his 12-year-long career, he gained more popularity in the shortest format. He has scored 3120 runs in 103 T20Is at an average of 34 and a strike rate of over 142.

Take a look at some of his brilliant records:

1. Most T20I runs in an inning

In a Tri-series game against Zimbabwe, Finch scored the highest-ever T20I score of 172. Opening the inning with D’Arcy Short, he did the major work and scored 172 off 76 balls, hitting 16 fours and 10 sixes. They laid a partnership of 223 runs, which broke in the last over. Australia scored a total of 229/2 and won the game by 100 runs.

In the same inning, he also made the record for the longest T20I inning in terms of balls. This 223-run partnership is also the second-highest partnership in T20Is, just behind the 236-run stand between Hazratullah Zazai and Usman Ghani against Ireland.

2. Most matches as a captain in T20Is

Aaron Finch has played a total of 76 T20I matches as a captain. He is followed by MS Dhoni and Eion Morgan, who have led their respective sides in 72 games. Finch has won 40 games and lost 32 as a captain.
