New Delhi: As the Parisians prepare to brace themselves for the Olympics 2024, authorities fail to tame the overwhelming population of the city. This will be the first time that the opening ceremony of the Olympics will not be done in a stadium but out in the open.

As the ceremony is held in the open for the first time, Parisians will get to experience this once-in-a-lifetime grandeur with their naked eyes. Due to security concerns, only 300,000 fans have been allowed on the banks of the river Seine. However, 80 giant screens have been set up across the city to make the live telecast available to the Parisians.

Boat Parade

The highlight of the Opening Ceremony is the 6 km boat parade on the river Seine. The Austerlitz Bridge near the Jardin des Plantes is the starting point of the parade. Trocadéro has been decided as the point of conclusion for this year’s Paris Olympics. There will be approximately 94 boats which will sail across the River Seine which will carry around 10,500 people.

Unique dress codes

The fashion capital of the world is also set to get a whole new fashion makeover. Athletes from each contingent are set to wear the traditional outfit which signifies the culture of their country.

 

Opening and Closing Ceremony of the Paris Olympics 2024

India and France share a time difference of 3 hours and 30 minutes behind. So, the Indian fans will have a lot of adjustments to their clock dials to be on time throughout the Olympics to keep track of the events. The opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics is scheduled to take place on the 26th of July at 8:24 pm (local time).

On the other hand, after a nonstop action for three weeks, the Olympics will close on the 11th of August around 3:00 pm (local time).
