New Delhi: The 8th edition of the Asian Champions Trophy Hockey 2024 (ACT) is set to kick off in Hulunbuir City, China. Defending champions of ACT, India will look to extend their form from the Paris Olympics 2024 into the tournament to defend their title. Skipper Harmanpreet Singh will look to lead the side with Vivek Sagar Prasad as the Vice-captain of the side.

However, the Indian side will enter the field without their talismanic goalkeeper PR Sreejesh. Sreejesh took retirement after the Paris Olympics 2024 behind a long career spanning 18 years. Meanwhile, Hardik Singh; another senior member of the Indian hockey team has also been rested for the current tournament.

The ACT will be played in a league format where a total of 15 matches will be played. At the end of the 15 matches, the fifth and sixth-ranked teams will compete in the fifth-place match. Meanwhile, the other 4 will compete in the semifinals where the 1st placed team will play with the 4th placed team while the 2nd placed team will play the 3rd placed team. Subsequently, the losers will play the third-place match while the top 2 will compete in the finals to be held on 17th September.
