New Delhi: In a recent step taken by the Asian Cricket Council, the cricket council has decided to inaugurate the Women’s U19 T20 Asia Cup in an attempt to boost the preparation of the women’s teams for the upcoming U19 World Cup.
The inaugural edition of the Women’s U19 T20 Asia Cup was announced at the Executive Board meeting of the ACC held in Malaysia.

The decision came in a recent Executive Board Meeting that was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Current ICC Chairman and former BCCI Secretary, Jay Shah was very optimistic about the steps taken by ACC as he remarked-

Although the Women’s U19 T20 Asia Cup will be one of the most innovative steps in women’s cricket, the women in blue have a more uphill task at their disposal. The women in blue are set to compete in the upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup for which a strong side has been handpicked and will be led from the front by Harmanpreet Kaur.
