New Delhi: The 19th edition of the Asian Games, which is being held in Hangzhou, China, is nearing its end with only three more days to go. India, after breaking their all-time medals record on Wednesday, is now looking forward to crossing the 100-medals mark for the first time ever in their Asian Games history. India, on day 12, added five more medals, including three gold medals, taking their total medal tally to 86 medals, including 21 gold medals. India’s first medal of the day was a gold medal when the women’s archery team of Jyothi Vennam, Aditi Swami and Parneet Kaur defeated the Chinese Taipei in the finals of the women’s compound archery team event. Indian men’s compound archery team also followed in the footsteps of the women’s team and secured the gold medal after beating the defending champions, South Korea, in the finals. Indian squash duo of Dipika Pallikal and Harinder Pal Singh also created history when they won the gold in the first-ever mixed doubles squash event gold at the Asian Games. However, the singles gold medal once again eluded the squash legend Saurav Ghosal, who settled for the silver medal after losing the finals. India’s last medal came from Antim Panghal, who won her bronze medal match against Mongolia's Bolortuya in the women's 53 Kg freestyle wrestling. India is still 14 medals short of 100 medals and will try to cover that gap in the upcoming days.
