New Delhi: The Indian contingent has finally achieved their target of 100 medals at the Asian Games 2023, and it was none other than the women’s kabaddi team who helped India reach the iconic landmark.
India needed 5 medals to touch the 100 mark on day 14, and with archers adding 4 early in the day, the women’s kabaddi team victory confirmed India’s 100th medal.
India went on to add three more gold medals in the day, courtesy of men’s kabaddi, cricket and badminton teams, putting the full stop on their historic Asian Games campaign.

Indian men’s cricket team added one more gold in the Indian kitty, taking the total number of gold medals to 27.

India’s badminton duo of Satwik Reddy and Chirag Shetty clinched India’s first-ever gold medal in the men’s doubles category after defeating Korea’s Solgyu and Wonho by 21-18 21-16, taking the Indian medal tally to 101.
This is also India’s first gold medal in badminton at Asian Games.

In the all-Indian finals in the men’s compound archery individual event, Ojas Pravin edged out his own countryman Abhishek Verma by 149 to 147 to secure the gold medal, while Abhishek settled down with silver.
India is now just one medal away from 100.
