
New Delhi: India dominated day 6 of the Asian Games 2023 in a scintillating fashion as they added seven more medals to their tally, taking the total number to 32.
Indian men’s shooting team of Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, Swapnil Kusale and Akhil Sheoran clinched gold in the men’s 50m 3p team event to open India’s account on Friday.
The women’s shooting team soon added one more medal to the Indian tally by winning silver in the women’s 10m air pistol team event.
Palak Gulia and Esha Singh then added two more medals by winning gold and silver in the women’s 10m air pistol individual events, respectively.
Despite losing their games, the Indian men’s tennis doubles team and women’s squash team managed to add one silver and one bronze to the medals tally.
India’s final medal of the day came from the women’s shot put, where Kiran Baliyan clinched a bronze medal with the best of 17.36 in her third attempt.
India also ensured two more medals courtesy of semifinal qualification by the Indian men’s badminton team and started Indian boxer, Nikhat Zareen.
